Green Infrastructure Design Research & Development (GIRD) project for the City of Hoboken, NJ

Green Infrastructure Project Spotlight

At AEGIS Engineering & Planning LLC, we are committed to developing sustainable, innovative solutions for managing stormwater challenges. One of our standout initiatives is the Green Infrastructure Design Research & Development (GIRD) project for the City of Hoboken, NJ.

Washington Street Rain Gardens – Hoboken, NJ

As part of the GIRD project, AEGIS designed and developed a series of rain gardens along Washington Street. These rain gardens help mitigate flooding while improving water quality and reducing runoff. Our team collaborated with local agencies to design and implement these systems, integrating them seamlessly into the urban landscape.

Automated Monitoring System – “Project Neuro”

In a groundbreaking step, AEGIS developed Project Neuro, an automated monitoring system for Hoboken’s green infrastructure. By installing a network of microcomputers and sensors, this system detects when maintenance is needed, allowing the City to efficiently manage its stormwater assets. This innovative approach reduces labor costs while ensuring the continued performance of critical infrastructure.

Through projects like this, AEGIS continues to push the boundaries of green infrastructure design, offering sustainable, effective solutions to stormwater management.
